SWIMS
SolidWorks, 3D resin printer, sandpaper, steel wool, lacquer paint, epoxy resin, urethane clear coat, laser cutter, Adobe illustrator
May 2026
I worked with 3D Color for my spring 2026 co-op, where I had the opportunity to design and create a product line. Swims is a skin & body care brand designed and created specifically for a young audience ages 8-14.
Today’s skin & body care brands aren’t being created with a younger audience in mind. The skincare market as of recently has garnered a very young audience—despite ingredients in many products potentially posing a threat to young skin barriers. To combat this issue I designed safe and simple products in order to give younger audiences who are interested in self care a place in stores.
Process
I developed a modular skincare set using an embossed and de-bossed flower motif, allowing the two pieces to stack together, as well as incorporating a rounded indent to break up the structure. I created various sketches and modeled my pieces using SolidWorks. I then printed my pieces using a resin 3D printer, and sanded the surfaces. I used a combination of lacquer-based paints and urethane paints to create custom colors.
